It has been said that three most important questions are, where did we come from, why are we here, and what is our purpose. You can probably see that these 3, in all reality, are one and the same question, and although everyone may not verbalize it, internally we all want to know. Thankfully the Bible tells us our purpose and it is most simply expressed in the wording of the old catechism: To glorify God and to enjoy Him forever.

As early as Genesis we hear God say that it is not good to be alone, this is why doing life together in Christian community with other believers is so valuable. One of the best ways to discover your purpose in life is to engage by joining the church and getting involved in service. This will help you discover exactly where your God-given gifts and talents can best be used and maximized for the glory of God and the good of His people. We want to invite you to come and walk with us as we seek to glorify God and enjoy Him forever.

We exist for this purpose: To possess and communicate an unquenchable passion for the supremacy of the Lord Jesus Christ and the glory of God in all things.

“Twenty years ago a friend, Rev. Patrick Hall, recommended I read “The Pleasure of God” by John Piper. Already an avid reader of A.W. Tozer and listener of his recorded sermons, I immediately heard, echoes from Tozer’s ‘The Divine Infinitude’ and was drawn in. Additional echoes from Jonathan Edwards and others only deepened my interest. In my reading after Piper I came across his statement “We exist to spread a passion for the supremacy of God in all things for the joy of all peoples.” From those influences I crafted the above purpose statement, which is not original—and yet it communicated the desire God had placed in my heart. The words of this statement stuck in my heart like glue, I didn't memorize it, it just became embedded in me, almost inescapable. This is who I am, and at North Trident this is who we are, and who we are becoming.” - Dr. Nathan T. Morton

WE EXIST

But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually just as He wills. For even as the body is one and yet has many members, and all the members of the body, though they are many, are one body, so also is Christ. For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free, and we were all made to drink of one Spirit. For the body is not one member, but many. (1 Cor. 12:11-14 NASB)

Therefore I, the prisoner of the Lord, implore you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling with which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, showing tolerance for one another in love, being diligent to preserve the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit, just as also you were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all who is over all and through all and in all. (Eph. 4:1-6 NASB)

To Possess an Unquenchable passion

One thing I have asked from the LORD, that I shall seek: That I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, To behold the beauty of the LORD And to meditate in His temple. (Ps. 27:4 NASB)

“For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” (Matt. 6:21 NASB)

"But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. (Matt. 6:33 NASB)

And He said to him, "'You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.' "This is the great and foremost commandment. (Matt. 22:37-38 NASB)

For the supremacy of Christ

He is also head of the body, the church; and He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that He Himself will come to have first place in everything. For it was the Father's good pleasure for all the fullness to dwell in Him, (Col. 1:18-19 NASB)

God, after He spoke long ago to the fathers in the prophets in many portions and in many ways, in these last days has spoken to us in His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the world. And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature, and upholds all things by the word of His power. (Heb. 1:1-3 NAU)

And the Glory of God in all things

"I am the LORD, that is My name; I will not give My glory to another, Nor My praise to graven images. (Isa. 42:8 NASB)

"Yours, O LORD, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the victory and the majesty, indeed everything that is in the heavens and the earth; Yours is the dominion, O LORD, and You exalt Yourself as head over all. (1 Chr. 29:11 NASB)
